A few “Visit to a Collector’s Home” projects that I touched on briefly in last week’s diary have now been scheduled.
This series draws significantly more page views than other articles. Readers must be curious about how life and art coexist, and I too find it fascinating and always look forward to these visits. I have also heard that a certain art magazine is preparing a “Collector Feature.” I hope we can convey the rich, diverse world of collectors, one that cannot be summed up in a single category.
Museum Goods Article
Among the articles updated last week, the one that received the most access was this one.
At exhibitions everywhere, crowds gather at the museum shop, where a wide variety of items is on sale. Sweets, T-shirts, stationery — recent goods span a huge range of products. Among them are also art items you can display at home, such as the standard postcards, posters, mini-canvases, and reproduction prints. It would be wonderful if opportunities to enjoy art in accessible ways continue to expand, rather than only through buying expensive artworks.
By the way, the article on Hammershøi exhibition goods was picked up by a certain housewife’s blog, and I was surprised at how much traffic came in from there.
It might sound rude to call it “trivial,” but the blog is a diary-style record of everyday life written at a slow pace, extremely friendly and easy to read, with a strong pull that draws you in. The unadorned, straightforward prose was very comfortable and stress-free. I wished Kaho Miyake, author of “Buzz-Worthy Writing Classroom,” could analyze it.
Room Makeover in Progress
Out of the blue, I bought a walnut table.
I have been unifying various pieces of furniture in walnut, and I finally got a serious walnut single-plank table. I am gradually redecorating the room.
There is a magazine I sometimes pull out from the bookshelf. It is the November 1, 2016 issue of BRUTUS, the “I Want to Live with Contemporary Art” feature.

In this magazine, various collectors appear and introduce works from their collections, but it is the impressions of the rooms visible in the background that always jump out at me and inspire me. Every photograph has such a nice feel that I inevitably start thinking about rethinking my own room.
Incidentally, POPEYE’s “The Room and the City Boy” is also a good book. It is more practical and actually useful as a reference for putting a room together.
Regarding the Collectors’ Collection Exhibition that recently closed, we have been contacted by media outlets who want to cover it. An interview is scheduled this week. I am also looking forward to the second edition of the Collectors’ Collection Exhibition, scheduled for July.

지난주 일기에서도 조금 언급했던 “컬렉터 자택 방문 기획”의 일정이 몇 건 정해졌습니다.
이 기획은 다른 기사와 비교해도 페이지뷰(PV)가 크게 늘어나고 있습니다. 생활과 예술이 어떻게 공존하는지, 독자분들도 그렇겠지만 저 역시 흥미롭게, 즐거운 마음으로 방문하고 있습니다. 어느 미술 잡지에서도 “컬렉터 특집”이 기획된다고 들었습니다. 한 마디로 묶어낼 수 없는 다양한 컬렉터의 세계를 전해드릴 수 있다면 좋겠습니다.
뮤지엄 굿즈 기사
지난주 업데이트된 기사 중 가장 많은 접속이 있었던 것이 아래의 기사였습니다.
어디에서 개최되는 전시회이든, 뮤지엄 숍에는 많은 사람들이 모여들고 다양한 아이템이 판매되고 있습니다. 과자, 티셔츠, 문구류 등 최근의 굿즈는 다양한 상품이 개발되고 있습니다. 그 안에는 정통 엽서, 포스터, 미니 캔버스, 복제화 등 집에 장식할 수 있는 아트 상품도 포함됩니다. 고가의 예술 작품을 사기보다 가까이서 즐길 수 있는 기회가 넓어지면 좋겠습니다.
그런데, 어느 주부 블로그에서 위 Hammershøi전 굿즈 기사가 소개되었는데, 여기에서의 유입이 매우 많아서 놀랐습니다.
사소하다고 하면 실례일 수 있으나, 일상을 느긋하게 써 내려가는 일기 형식의 블로그로, 매우 친숙하고 읽기 편해서 강하게 빨려 들어가는 힘이 있었습니다. 꾸밈 없이 직설적인 문장은 매우 편안하고 스트레스가 없었습니다. 『Buzz-Worthy Writing Classroom』의 저자 Kaho Miyake가 분석해 주었으면 좋겠다고 생각했습니다.
방 꾸미기 진행 중
갑작스럽지만, 월넛 테이블을 구입했습니다.
다양한 가구를 월넛으로 통일해 오다가, 마침내 진심을 담은 월넛 원목 통판 테이블을 손에 넣었습니다. 서서히 방을 새로 꾸미고 있습니다.
책장에서 가끔 꺼내는 잡지가 있습니다. BRUTUS 2016년 11월 1일호 “현대미술과 함께 살고 싶다” 특집입니다.

이 잡지에는 다양한 컬렉터가 등장해 소장 작품을 소개하는데, 배경에 비치는 방의 인상이 유독 눈에 들어와 크게 감화됩니다. 각각의 사진 컷의 느낌이 좋아서, 저도 모르게 제 방을 다시 살펴보게 됩니다.
덧붙여, POPEYE의 「방과 시티 보이」도 좋은 책입니다. 이쪽이 더 실용적이어서, 실제로 방 꾸미기의 참고가 됩니다.
얼마 전 종료된 Collectors’ Collection Exhibition에 관해, 미디어에서 다뤄 주시게 되었습니다. 이번 주에 취재를 받을 예정입니다. 제2회 Collectors’ Collection Exhibition(7월 개최 예정)도 기대하고 있습니다.
