CAFは、現代芸術に関する知識と教養の向上を図るため、現代アート芸術展の開催等による現代芸術の普及活動を行うとともに、若手芸術家及び若手音楽家を支援することによる技能の向上を図り、もって現代芸術の振興に寄与することを目的としています。

The “Contemporary Art Foundation (hereafter CAF)” is an organization founded by Yusaku Maezawa, former president of ZOZOTOWN.
CAF aims to enhance knowledge and awareness of contemporary art by promoting it through activities such as holding contemporary art exhibitions, while also supporting young artists and musicians in developing their skills, thereby contributing to the advancement of contemporary art.
Established in line with this mission, the “CAF Award” is an art award targeting high school, university, graduate school, and vocational school students, with the goal of nurturing young artists.
Launched in 2014, this year’s 2019 edition marks its sixth iteration.

Internationally, the trend toward video and installation works is clearly gaining momentum, but each year one senses that painting is diminishing in presence.
We hope that awards like this will help usher in painters who will astonish the art world.

“공익재단법인 현대예술진흥재단(Contemporary Art Foundation) ※이하 CAF”는 ZOZOTOWN의 전 사장 Yusaku Maezawa가 설립한 단체입니다.
CAF는 현대 예술에 관한 지식과 교양의 향상을 도모하기 위해 현대 미술 예술전 개최 등을 통한 현대 예술의 보급 활동을 펼치는 동시에, 젊은 예술가와 젊은 음악가를 지원하여 그 기량 향상을 도모함으로써 현대 예술의 진흥에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있습니다.
이 목적에 부합하는 형태로 만들어진 “CAF상”은 고등학교, 대학, 대학원, 전문학교 학생을 대상으로 하며, 젊은 아티스트 육성을 목적으로 한 아트 어워드입니다.
2014년부터 시작되어, 2019년 올해로 제6회를 맞이합니다.

이러한 상을 계기로, 미술계를 깜짝 놀라게 할 만한 화가의 등장을 기대해봅니다.
