We visited “Thermals of the Heart,” the first solo exhibition in Asia by Nicholas Hatfull, a young British artist born in Tokyo. The venue is THE CLUB, a gallery inside GINZA SIX.
Nicholas Hatfull creates his works by first sketching on an iPad, then painting in oils on canvas, and skillfully incorporating acrylic paints and spray paints.
He has also been strongly influenced by the films of director Yasujiro Ozu, drawing on their motifs.
The works in this exhibition delicately reflect an unassuming everyday life, completed with an awareness of the “Ozu palette.”
His mysterious and richly nuanced works, containing surrealist elements, resonate deeply with the heart.
His works are part of the collection of Beth Rudin DeWoody, a prominent American collector, and have also been exhibited at numerous museums including the Saatchi Gallery in London, the Fondazione Giorgio e Isa de Chirico in Rome, and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome (MACRO).
He is sure to become an increasingly noted international artist in the years to come.

我们参观了在东京出生的英国年轻艺术家Nicholas Hatfull的亚洲首个个展”Thermals of the Heart—心的温度”。展场为位于GINZA SIX内的画廊THE CLUB。
Nicholas Hatfull先以iPad描绘草图，再在画布上以油画呈现，并灵活运用丙烯颜料与喷漆进行创作。
其作品被美国知名女性藏家Beth Rudin DeWoody所收藏，此外也曾在伦敦的Saatchi Gallery、罗马的Fondazione Giorgio e Isa de Chirico、罗马当代艺术美术馆（MACRO）等众多美术馆展出。
今后想必会成为愈发受到瞩目的国际艺术家。
Nicholas Hatfull「마음의 온도」
도쿄에서 태어난 젊은 영국 아티스트 Nicholas Hatfull의 아시아 첫 개인전 “Thermals of the Heart-마음의 온도”를 방문했습니다. 장소는 GINZA SIX 내의 갤러리 THE CLUB입니다.
Nicholas Hatfull은 iPad로 그린 스케치를 캔버스에 유채로 옮겨 그린 뒤, 아크릴 물감과 스프레이 페인트를 자유자재로 구사하며 작품을 제작합니다.
또한 Yasujiro Ozu 감독의 영화로부터 큰 영향을 받아, 모티프 등에도 이를 채용하고 있습니다.
본 전시의 출품작 역시 꾸밈없는 일상을 섬세하게 담아내며, “Ozu 컬러”를 의식하면서 완성되었습니다.
초현실주의 요소를 포함한 신비롭고 깊이 있는 작품이 마음에 울림을 줍니다.
