Collected! Japanese Avant-Garde — Through the Eyes of Tokutaro Yamamura: The Yamamura Collection
I visited the special exhibition “Collected! Japanese Avant-Garde — Through the Eyes of Tokutaro Yamamura: The Yamamura Collection,” which brings together 140 works collected by the businessman Tokutaro Yamamura (1926–1986), a resident of Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. The venue is the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art.

The collecting philosophy of the Yamamura Collection is said to lie “in the space between abstraction and a more human-scented avant-garde.”
This collection exhibition is the first in about twenty years, and reportedly the largest in scale to date.

It was a large-scale collection exhibition.
With many abstract works and large-format pieces lined up throughout the venue, the space was truly spectacular.
I thoroughly enjoyed this outstanding array of works!

야마무라 컬렉션의 수집 방침은 “추상과 인간미 넘치는 전위 사이의 경계”라고 합니다.
이번 컬렉션전은 약 20년 만에 열리며, 역대 최대 규모의 출품이라고 합니다.
