Hakone is a sightseeing destination for art. The Hakone Open-Air Museum, the Pola Museum of Art, and others cluster here, but the “Okada Museum of Art,” near Kowakien, is a large and comfortable museum where you can take your time and view the works at a leisurely pace.

Foot Bath Café
Beside the Okada Museum of Art building, a foot bath awaits.
It is a facility so thoughtfully designed that steps were even added to position visitors at just the right height, letting them gaze comfortably and leisurely at a work that reproduces Sotatsu Tawaraya’s masterpiece “Wind God and Thunder God screens” on a colossal scale of 12 meters high and 30 meters wide, right before their eyes.
The water is surprisingly hot. You adjust it by moving your feet in and out.
If you pay the Okada Museum of Art’s admission fee of “2800 yen,” the foot bath is free. If you use only the foot bath, you can enter for 500 yen. When this writer went in, a single amateur runner was there soothing his fatigue.
Foot Bath Café
Being a “Foot Bath Café,” this foot bath spot itself becomes a café. In other words, you can place your order while soaking in the foot bath.
Look closely at the menu and you’ll even find draft beer (800 yen). Because the foot bath water is hot, something cold tastes all the more delicious.
It was built with partitions so that each block can be used by 2–3 people.
What an overwhelming mural!
A staff member who takes orders is stationed at the entrance to the right of the foot bath, but you can also order while soaking in the foot bath (if staff are around).
하코네는 예술 관광지입니다. The Hakone Open-Air Museum（조각의 숲 미술관）과 Pola Museum of Art（폴라 미술관） 등이 모여 있지만, 코와키엔 근처의 미술관 “Okada Museum of Art”（오카다 미술관）는 시간을 여유롭게 들여 감상할 수 있는, 크고 아늑한 미술관입니다.

Okada Museum of Art 건물 옆에는 족욕탕이 마련되어 있습니다.
Sotatsu Tawaraya의 대표작 “Wind God and Thunder God screens”（풍신뇌신도 병풍）을 세로 12미터, 가로 30미터라는 거대한 규모로 재현한 작품을 눈앞에서 바라보며, 시선을 고려해 여유롭게 감상할 수 있는 위치에 계단까지 설치해 세심하게 배려한 시설입니다.
탕 온도는 의외로 높은 인상입니다. 발을 넣었다 뺐다 하며 조절합니다.
Okada Museum of Art의 입장료 “2800엔”을 지불하면 족욕은 무료로 이용할 수 있습니다. 족욕만 이용할 경우 500엔에 입장할 수 있습니다. 필자가 들어갔을 때는 시민 러너 한 명이 홀로 피로를 풀고 있었습니다.

“Foot Bath Café”인 만큼, 이 족욕 장소 자체가 카페가 됩니다. 즉, 이 족욕을 하면서 주문을 할 수 있는 것입니다.
메뉴를 잘 보면 생맥주까지 놓여 있습니다(800엔). 족욕의 물 온도가 높아서 차가운 것이 맛있게 느껴집니다.
소프트아이스크림(400엔), 프리미엄 일본식 파르페(800엔).
한 블록을 2〜3명이 사용할 수 있도록 칸막이가 있는 구조로 되어 있었습니다.

족욕에서 봤을 때 오른편 입구에 주문을 받는 스태프가 상주하고 있지만, 족욕을 하면서 주문하는 것도 가능합니다(스태프가 있다면).
