I visited Kenjiro Okazaki’s solo exhibition “In Storage” at Nantenshi Gallery. This is the final exhibition to be held in the gallery’s current space.

Since its founding in 1960, Nantenshi Gallery has held numerous exhibitions of avant-garde artists such as Shuzo Takiguchi, Ai-Mitsu and Shunsuke Matsumoto, and has actively introduced young and international artists — a gallery with a long and storied tradition. It is also the venue of Kenjiro Okazaki’s very first solo exhibition, and the two have continued a relationship over many years. In 2020, to mark the gallery’s 60th anniversary, they collaborated on editing and producing art and picture books, including the signed art book “Kur Kur: Kurukuru at the Bottom of the Earth.”
For this exhibition, “In Storage,” works shown at Nantenshi Gallery SOKO in April 1992 were reconstructed and displayed, together with past and recent works. The exhibition was spread across the first and second floors.

南天子画廊自1960年创立以来，举办过泷口修造、靉光、松本竣介等众多前卫艺术家的展览，并积极介绍年轻及海外艺术家，是一家颇具传统的画廊。这里也是冈崎乾二郎首次个展的举办地，此后双方长年保持着持续的合作关系。2020年，为纪念画廊成立60周年，双方还合作编辑制作了作品集与画册，包括带亲笔签名的艺术书《Kur Kur 大地深处的库鲁库鲁》。

오카자키 겐지로의 개인전 「In Storage」(난텐시 화랑)에 다녀왔습니다. 이번 전시는 현재 공간에서 열리는 마지막 전시가 됩니다.
전시 전경(1층)
난텐시 화랑은 1960년 창립 이래 다키구치 슈조, 아이미쓰, 마쓰모토 슌스케 등 전위 미술가들의 전시를 다수 개최하고, 젊은 작가와 해외 작가를 적극적으로 소개해 온 전통 있는 화랑입니다. 또한 오카자키 겐지로의 첫 개인전이 열린 장소이며, 이후로도 오랜 세월에 걸쳐 지속적인 관계를 이어 온 화랑이기도 합니다. 2020년에는 화랑 60주년을 기념하여 사인이 담긴 아트북 『Kur Kur 땅속 깊은 곳의 쿠루쿠루』를 간행하는 등 작품집·화집의 편집 제작에도 협력해 왔습니다.
이번 전시 「In Storage」는 1992년 4월 난텐시 갤러리 SOKO에서 전시되었던 작품을 재구성하여 선보이는 것 외에, 과거작과 근작도 함께 전시되었습니다. 전시 공간은 1층과 2층으로 나뉘어 있었습니다.
