We visited the exhibition “Abstract World” at The National Museum of Art, Osaka.
The exhibition surveys European and American abstract art from 1980 to the present — a span of roughly 40 years — through the work of 13 artists.
It includes works by historically significant artists, and is a venue that presents mainly paintings alongside some sculptures.

The venue removed partition walls and made expansive use of the space in its display method.
With an open field of view, a great deal of visual information from the works enters the eye at once. Curation is by Hiroyuki Nakanishi, Chief of the Curatorial Section at The National Museum of Art, Osaka.

In an open, unpartitioned space, we could take our time with the large works.
It was a comfortable viewing experience that also included artists we were seeing for the first time.
Some works were hard to describe as strictly abstract,
but the diversity of works by the 13 artists gathered here seemed to reveal the depth and appeal of abstract expression.

전시장 내부는 칸막이 벽을 없애고 공간을 넓게 활용한 전시 방식이었습니다.
시야가 트여 있어 많은 작품 정보가 한 번에 눈에 들어오는 방식. 큐레이션은 The National Museum of Art, Osaka의 미술실장 Hiroyuki Nakanishi입니다.

칸막이 없는 개방적인 공간에서 큰 작품을 여유롭게 감상할 수 있었습니다.
처음 보는 작가도 포함하여 편안한 감상 체험이었습니다.
추상 작품이라고 부르기 어려운 작품도 포함되어 있었지만,
13명의 작가에 의한 다양한 작품들이 모여, 추상 표현의 깊이와 재미를 제시하고 있다고 느껴졌습니다.
