Frieze Sculpture 2022 ran in parallel with the Frieze London dates.
Staged inside “Regent’s Park,” a Royal Park in northern London, the program is an art fair project lining the grounds with large-scale sculptural works.
I had time before the VIP-day opening of Frieze London, so I was able to spend it in a leisurely fashion until the gates opened.
I arrived about an hour before the VIP opening of Frieze London’s first day.
The park was so glorious at this moment of the season that I couldn’t help wondering whether the very reason Frieze London runs at this time of year is precisely to catch the park’s superb autumn colours.

The park was full of squirrels. I even managed to film them — see the video below.

On what was, for London, an exceptionally pleasant morning in the park, I saw families, couples, and local runners going about their day. The interplay of greenery and art was, quite simply, superb.
