We visited Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi (hereafter AATM).
The exhibition was staged across three venues in the Marunouchi area.
Art Award Tokyo Marunouchi — venue view (Marunouchi Building, 1F Marucube)
AATM is a contemporary art exhibition dedicated to discovering and nurturing young artists. Its curators visit graduation exhibitions at leading art universities, art colleges, and graduate schools across Japan, and from among the nominated works uncovered there, a further selection is put on display. It is closely watched each year as an award that recognizes outstanding emerging artists.
At the very first edition in 2007, the Grand Prize went to Haruka Kojin, and in 2009 it was awarded to Wah (Kenji Minamigawa + Hirofumi Masui) — members who later became part of me — an award that also broadcast their video appearances within the exhibition space.

The 2021 edition marked the milestone 15th edition, presenting works across three venues: the Marunouchi Building, Marunouchi OAZO, and the newly opened (July of this year) TOKYO TORCH Park.
