All of the works are acrylic on panel, yet the black shows a subtly varied texture.
Looking closely at the paint surface, we could see that beneath the black lies a ground painted in a different color for each work (blue, yellow, red, and so on); the black is layered over it and the surface is then scraped as a final step. Viewed from the side, the colors bleeding out from beneath were clearly visible.

Back Room
The back room displayed the 2011 large-scale work “Girls,” which had been adapted for a jacket by the musical artist KIRINJI.

The exquisitely tuned color combinations, the pared-down motifs, and the beautifully flat paint surface set the pulse racing.

모든 작품은 패널 위에 아크릴 물감으로 제작되었지만, 검정에서 미묘하게 다른 질감이 느껴졌습니다.
작품 가까이에서 화면을 확인해 보았습니다. 작품별로 다른 색(파랑, 노랑, 빨강 등)을 칠한 바탕 위에 검정 물감을 덧입히고, 마지막에 표면을 깎아내는 방식으로 마감한 듯합니다. 옆에서 작품을 들여다보면 삐져나온 바탕색을 확인할 수 있었습니다.
