This exhibition runs in conjunction with “Tom Sachs: Tea Ceremony,” on view at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery from Saturday, April 20 through Sunday, June 23, 2019.
As a solo exhibition at a commercial gallery, the pieces on view are of course for sale, and despite their high prices, sales are booming.
His signature kintsugi tea bowls, inlaid with the NASA logo, priced at 1.6 million yen! *All sold outEven the unseen bottom is cool. I want one!

The exhibition drew a lively crowd, with many young visitors in attendance.
The works themselves were humorous and enjoyable, but the price tags were on the aggressive side — not so enjoyable…
