Following on from 2018, Chisato Tanaka was again on view at Kobayashi Gallery.
Chisato Tanaka, “Family,” triangle with 15 cm sides, 2019
For the 2018 edition, see below.
Compared with last year the display space was smaller, but Kobayashi Gallery still gave her a spot that read like the centerpiece of their presentation.
Chisato Tanaka, “Rainbow Forest,” 24.3 × 66.8 cm, 2017 * 320,000 yen (tax and frame incl.)
Kobayashi Gallery filled every inch of their booth with works by their represented artists, laying them out tightly for both display and sale.
Chisato Tanaka’s works were swapped for other pieces as they sold — a clear, sales-focused approach.
Chisato Tanaka, “Happy Child,” 15 × 15 cm, 2019
Chisato Tanaka’s works — 15 cm square, smaller than a “size 0” (18 cm) canvas — were priced at 80,000 yen (tax and frame incl.).
The price hadn’t gone up from last year.
Chisato Tanaka, “Popular One,” 15 × 21 cm, 2019 * 105,000 yen (tax and frame incl.)Installation view
A beautifully worked black ground; a world of her own.
