アートフェア東京2019のパートナーイベント「3331 ART FAIR 2019」でも展示されていました。
少しお高めですが、受注生産もしているようですね。
今後は大学院に進まれ、次の新しい創造に進んで行くそうです。
これからの作品にも期待しています。
Movement act
The 67th Tokyo University of the Arts Graduation Works Exhibition was held from January 28 to February 3, 2019.
The work 《Movement act》, exhibited in one corner of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum — one of the venues — was so fascinating that we wanted to introduce it here.

How was it?
I saw it with my own eyes, and “magnificent” is the only word to describe it.
The motion of 16 balls being physically flicked and crossing paths again and again — narrowly avoiding one another while a wooden rail lends an air of instability — creates real tension in the viewer, keeping the heart racing.
The white balls cross paths without colliding — remarkably.
The creator, Shun Onozawa, was originally drawn to juggling and has been active as a performer himself; that’s what led him to create this work.
The work was also featured on the Nippon TV morning show “Sukkiri” on February 5, 2019.
Precisely because he loves juggling, the work is infused with his feelings. The keyword is “design that includes failure.”
Aiming at 100% perfect success ends up pointing toward something mechanical, like an industrial product. Onozawa deliberately uses a wooden base and other means to keep ball control fuzzy — resulting in a work that embraces failure as part of the piece.

Half-jokingly I pressed him, “So including failure in the design — is that just an excuse?” — but he answered earnestly, “I wanted to express the thrilling, heart-pounding feeling of juggling.”
As he put it — “I wanted to express that real, contingency-laden live sensation” born between the juggler and the juggling ball — because he loves juggling so much, the work is presented as one that absorbs both the enjoyment and the tension of that world.

The performance runs four times per hour, calibrated so that one out of every four is likely to fail.

The seemingly fully controlled motion of the balls in the early and middle stages ultimately breaks down at the end.
A young student of the digital generation delivered an analog, raw expression through this piece — one that firmly stood as art.
The work was in fact selected as a “University Purchase Work” and will be preserved at Geidai.
It was also on view at “3331 ART FAIR 2019,” a partner event of Art Fair Tokyo 2019.
The price is a bit on the higher side, but made-to-order production is apparently available.
He will go on to graduate school, moving on to the next new creation.

今后他将进入研究生院,继续走向新的创作。

회장 중 하나인 Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum의 한 켠에 전시되어 있던 작품 《Movement act》가 매우 흥미로워 소개하고자 합니다.

저는 육안으로 보았는데, 그저 “훌륭하다”라는 한마디로 요약됩니다.
16개의 공이 물리적으로 튕겨져 나가며 반복적으로 교차하는 움직임은 아슬아슬한 거리에서 교차하면서도 나무 레일이 자아내는 불안정함이 관람자에게 긴장감을 주며 두근두근, 조마조마하게 만듭니다.
흰 공들은 놀랍도록 부딪히지 않고 교차해 나갑니다.
제작자 Shun Onozawa 씨가 이 작품을 만들게 된 계기는 원래 저글링을 좋아해서 스스로 퍼포머로 활동하고 있었기 때문입니다.
2019년 2월 5일 방송된 니혼TV 계열 정보프로그램 「Sukkiri」에서도 다뤄졌습니다.
저글링을 좋아하기에 마음이 담긴 작품으로 완성된 것입니다. 그 키워드는 「실패까지 포함한 설계」입니다.
100% 완전한 성공을 위해 도달하게 되는 것은 공업 제품 같은 기계적인 것. Onozawa 씨는 굳이 나무 재질의 토대를 사용하는 등 공의 제어를 일부러 애매하게 함으로써, 실패까지 포함한 작품으로 완성한 것입니다.

실패를 포함한 설계에 대해 “그거 그냥 변명 아닌가요(웃음)?”라고 농담조로 던져봤지만, 그는 진지하게 “저글링의 조마조마 두근두근한 느낌을 표현하고 싶었어요.”라고 답했습니다.
저글러와 저글링 공이 만들어 내는 「현실적이고 우연성을 품은, 그 라이브한 감각을 표현하고 싶었다.」는 말처럼, 저글링을 정말 좋아하기에 그 즐거움과 긴장감을 삼켜낸 작품으로 발표되고 있었습니다.

시간당 4회 진행되는 퍼포먼스는 4회 중 1회 정도 실패할까 말까 하는 정밀도로 설계되어 있습니다.
전반부에 게재한 영상은 그 귀중한 실패 장면을 촬영할 수 있었던 영상입니다.

초반부터 중반까지 완전히 제어된 듯한 공의 움직임은 마지막에는 무너져 내립니다.
디지털 세대의 젊은 학생이 아날로그적이고 날것 그대로의 표현으로 전해오는 작품은, 분명 예술로서 성립하고 있었습니다.
작품은 훌륭하게 「대학 매입 작품」으로 선정되어 게이다이에 소장되게 되었습니다.
Art Fair Tokyo 2019의 파트너 이벤트 「3331 ART FAIR 2019」에서도 전시되었습니다.
가격은 다소 비싸지만, 수주 생산도 하고 있는 듯합니다.
앞으로는 대학원에 진학하여 새로운 창조로 나아가신다고 합니다.
