I visited Kosuke Ajiro’s solo exhibition “attic.”
The venue was ondo STAY & EXHIBITION, a gallery in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa.

The exhibition title “attic” means “loft.”
It was, I was told, the title that came to Ajiro’s mind when he saw the interior of ondo STAY & EXHIBITION.
He also seems to be overlaying it with a memory of the attic in his former family home, where paintings were displayed.
“Henry and Mary”
Kosuke Ajiro told me he sets a theme for each exhibition and pushes his production forward toward it.
This show contained many large-scale works, and it was clear he had spent considerable time preparing.

The solo show I attended previously centered on soft-toned works drawn on paper.
The atmosphere of these acrylic-on-canvas pieces, painted firmly on the canvas, feels even more intense, which is wonderful.
The characters depicted in the works and the motifs woven into them are gentle, as if you have wandered into a picture book.
I love the worldview of Kosuke Ajiro, which always invites me into another dimension.
I was also fortunate enough to have Kosuke Ajiro himself paint my portrait.

我造访了 Kosuke Ajiro 的个展”attic”。
展场位于清澄白河的画廊 ondo STAY & EXHIBITION。
《Girl with Braids》《Religious Painting》《Friend》 ※画框也由作家制作《Portrait of a Girl》右侧的大作是写实风格作品。据说是 Kosuke Ajiro 早期的画风。小品区《Mary》左：《Henry》 右：《Baby Mouse》立体作品是以石粉黏土制成。展示现场立体作品Ajiro 的立体作品所构筑的世界观让人百看不厌。

전시명 “attic”은 ‘다락방’이라는 뜻입니다.
갤러리 ondo STAY & EXHIBITION의 내부를 보았을 때 떠오른 제목이라고 합니다.
예전에 살았던 본가에도 다락방이 있어, 그곳에 그림이 걸려 있던 기억과 겹쳐 있다고도 하셨습니다.
《Henry and Mary》
Kosuke Ajiro는 전시마다 주제를 정하고, 그것을 향해 작품 제작을 진행한다고 합니다.
이번 전시는 대작이 많아, 시간을 들여 준비해 온 정황이 잘 느껴졌습니다.
《Girl with Braids》《Religious Painting》《Friend》 ※액자 또한 작가가 제작《Portrait of a Girl》오른쪽의 대작은 사실적인 작품입니다. Kosuke Ajiro의 초기 작풍이라고 합니다.소품 코너《Mary》왼쪽: 《Henry》 오른쪽: 《Baby Mouse》입체 작품은 석분 점토전시 풍경입체 작품Ajiro의 입체 작품은 아무리 봐도 질리지 않는 세계관을 지닙니다.
이전에 다녀온 개인전에서는 종이에 그린 부드러운 맛의 작품이 전시의 중심이었습니다.
아크릴 물감으로 캔버스에 단단히 그려낸 작품 특유의 세계관은 한층 더 짙어져 있어 매우 좋았습니다.
작품에 등장하는 캐릭터와 담겨 있는 모티프는 다정해서 마치 그림책의 세계로 빠져든 듯한 기분이 듭니다.
언제나 저를 다른 차원으로 이끌어 주는 Kosuke Ajiro의 세계관을 저는 몹시 사랑합니다.
